VICTIMS OF DIESEL EXPOSURES

A Note to Vietnam Veterans

Published on August 1st, 2016 by Andrew L. Hughes

Here at Diesel Injury Law, we have received many inquiries from individuals who call asking whether their occupational disease is work-related. After a thorough intake with an experienced diesel attorney, we often learn that the caller is a Vietnam Veteran. Many of the diseases that are associated with workplace exposures to diesel exhaust may also be compensable via claims through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Diesel Injury Law partners with experienced VA counsel to help our veterans obtain benefits for service-connected diseases. If a veteran ever set foot in Vietnam and develops one of the diseases listed below, no matter how many years later, VA will presume that it was caused by the Agent Orange exposures associated with service in Vietnam:

Disease associated with exposure to certain herbicide agents.

AL amyloidosis

Chloracne or other acneform disease consistent with chloracne

Type 2 diabetes (also known as Type II diabetes mellitus or adult-onset diabetes)
